Belinda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with almost 10 years of experience working in the mental health field with children, adolescents, and adults. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Immediately following, she attended Columbia University in New York City and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Belinda has experience working and providing counseling in a variety of settings to include the Texas child welfare system, K-12 academic schools, hospice, and inpatient acute psychiatric hospitals.
She is very passionate about helping clients navigate common roadblocks including struggles with anxiety, depression, gender identity and LGBTQ+, interpersonal and relationship conflict, stress, and trauma. As an LGBTQIA-informed and -affirming therapist, Belinda provides a safe space for clients to explore all issues including gender identity and self-expression without fear of judgment. She primarily utilizes cognitive-behavioral strategies, dialectical behavioral, and psychodynamic techniques. Belinda believes therapy is a collaborative process and so she works closely with her clients utilizing a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.
Outside of helping clients, Be enjoys reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, writing Yelp reviews, and spending time with her partner, family, friends, and furr baby Mila.
