Whitni is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over ten years of experience working in the mental health field. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro, North Carolina.
From there, Whitni pursued her Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While in the Master’s program, Whitni gained experience as a Student Counselor working in a women’s shelter, a residential substance abuse treatment facility, and a long-term care facility.
During her post-graduate internship, Whitni had to privilege to work in a private practice office providing affordable counseling services to teens, individuals, and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, relational issues, and other challenging life issues. Whitni also worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Texas.
After years of providing counseling services to people from various backgrounds, Whitni decided to start her practice. In June 2019, Whitni founded Alamo Ranch Counseling and Wellness, PLLC.
As Owner of Alamo Ranch Counseling and Wellness, Whitni has more time to focus on the areas she is most passionate about and provide people with solutions that are creative and unique to them as individuals. Whitni specializes in helping people become “unstuck” by reducing anxiety and depression, identifying values and priorities, repairing relationships, and setting realistic goals.
Whitni is trained in EMDR and Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. This means she has advanced training in working with individuals who have experienced traumatic or disturbing life events. She also specializes in working with mothers in the pregnant and postpartum phase who need help regulating their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, or who have experienced birth trauma.
Whitni is also a Counselor Supervisor to LPC-Associates and graduate counseling students who need an approved supervisor to gain licensure hours or graduate from their Master’s Program.
